Rabida Island/Galapagos
Allgemeine Informationen
Rábida Island befindet sich 4,3 Kilometer südliche der Insel Salvador. Der Sand der Insel ist von Eisenoxid-haltiger Vulkanasche dunkelrot gefärbt. Die Landschaft ist von kleinen Vulkankratern übersät und viele Kliffe und Steigungen prägen das Bild. Die etwa fünf Quadratmeter große Insel ist von Flamingos, Seelöwen, Pelikanen, Tölpeln, Spießenten und Finken bewohnt. Ein beliebtes Ziel ist der Norden der Insel, denn hier gibt es eine Salzwasserlagune und Sandstrände.
